Grampian 50 + Network
Set up over twenty years ago, the Network’s original objective was to create opportunities for older people to lead more active, stimulating and rewarding lives-and it has certainly succeeded in this. Today, more than sixty Groups are affiliated to it, spread throughout Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray, with a membership of over a thousand.
and is open to all 50+ Groups and Organizations in the North East on payment of a small fee.
Run by a committee of Volunteers, the Network is a registered Scottish Charity which promotes good links between groups and sharing ideas and experiences for the benefit of its members.
- to develop educational and recreational opportunities
- to organise themed events
- to provide training
- to support special projects.

The highlights of the network calendar are:
The Ramblers’ Rendezvous – Held in a different venue each year, the rendezvous offers members a fun packed programme of outdoor and indoor activities. Now in its 30th year, this unique event attracts over 600 members over 2 days.
Spring Fling – A day of indoor activities such as crafts, dance, heritage and many more built around the AGM.
Spring and Autumn Walks– Led by volunteers different venues each year, these walks allow members with varying levels of fitness to share interesting new walks suited to their capabilities.

AFTERNOON TEAS
Afternoon teas were held in all areas and were well attended. Such was the demand that we put on two extra teas.
At each event a Countryside Ranger gave a presentation.
One presentation is on You Tube and is called : "The Wild North East - Scotland's Natural Gem"
and is well worth watching.
The RSPB gave an excellent presentation on "Fins and Feathers" at the Aberdeen City Afternoon Tea.
You can find Photos of our activities in our Photo Gallery under the NEWS item on the menu bar.
